I’m sure that I’d hate it. ESPN has at least started excerpting [most of the time]. Professional journalists know how to write an engaging lead, so it’s usually okay. Most of the rest of us suck at writing leads … myself chief among them.

I did it because I wanted people to visit my website to read the story. I’m rethinking that opinion.

And you’d hate the CBC’s feeds because all you get are the story titles!

I personally abhor excerpting and tend to unsubscribe from such feeds. I’ll stick with feeds for folks I know or really like, but … that’s about it.
