Occassionally I download live concerts. Mostly I go for Tragically Hip bootlegs, but I still troll through dimeadozen and bt.etree.org for bootlegs that look interesting. I do so by using their RSS feeds.
This is where bt.etree.org sucks ass. Their RSS feed is of middling quality. Sometimes you’ll get a full description, with songs played, recording equipment used, some description of recording quality, and other useful information. But more often than not you’ll get something like this:

That’s it. What the hell is that?
dimeadozen, on the other hands, has admins that will ban torrents that don’t have accurate descriptions. It’s a breath of fresh air beside the dungheap that is the bt.etree.org RSS feed.

I should add that it’s striking how nobody (beyond Geof, who probably thought it) has said “yeah, that’s a good idea, they might want to do that” or “have you emailed the people at bt.etree.org with your suggestions?” Instead I get greeted with “spoiled brat”, “douche”, “assholes”, “fucking liberal piece of shit”, “faggot”, “hippy-faggot”, “jackass”, and “poser”.

brad your right. i apologize for my childish behavior and hurtful words . but i still beleive that some tapers are extremely arrogant and rude . there is no need to deny anyone what was so freely given to them . wonderful music is not to be treated like money and locked away . i am of the opinion that premium sbds and aud recordings should be had by all. if it were feesible for the people without to do more of the work to get these recordings than perhaps the tapers would feel more gratitude for there efforts .
i simply had a complaint about logging on to a site and perhaps in frusteration blurted out some bs in my oringinal message . for that i apologize . but i must say i was surprised at the first response, the other responses were provoked so i cant complain. but jesus maybe the first fella has no idea and should have been educated politely not yelled at by some arrogant prick who feels he is gods gift to the tapers world. and in closing furthur.net is full of great recordings with proper lineage as well as friendly people who are more than willing to help anyone out .

I love bt.etree, every show I get there arrives faster w/ less issues. Every show I get has tons of information about the recording. But, I have NO interest in Phish or Grateful Dead (saw them both 50+ times for some reason between 87-93). Maybe the best part of bt is you can HIDE Phish and GD when searching…since one of my favs are ‘Dead Kenny Gs’ it’s great to be able to hide the Dead. Maybe it’s the lazy Phish heads that don’t add info? I’m thankful for both sites mentioned as well the Trader’s Den…kind of dissapointed in what’s on the Colorado Tapers board….damn mandolins! Cheers, thanks for the chuckle of all your defensive comments.
