Either the baby names in Hilo are getting better or I’m getting less sensitive to them, because I didn’t think today’s crop of Bad Baby Names was particularly bad. Mrs. CanSpice thought there were at least two worthy of “Oh my God”. What does my faithful reader think?
Madylynroe-Kealani not only breaks out the Y’s, she also shoves two names that shouldn’t be shoved together (Madylyn and Roe — what is she, fish eggs?), and tops it all off with a hyphen. Contrats, Madylynroe-Kealani!
Jaxyn… I don’t know what to say. It’s just horrible. It’s one thing to replace ‘cks’ with ‘x’, and I guess ‘Jaxon’ would just be a stupid name, so let’s replace that ‘o’ with a ‘y’. Yeah, that’s a good idea!
Jahslyn is bad.
And let’s not forget the stereotypical Madisyn. Oh yes, Madisyn made an appearance today as well.
Alright, today’s crop wasn’t too bad. But I think today’s Baddest Baby Name wasn’t a baby name at all — it comes from today’s list of citizens arrested and charged, printed daily in the Trib.
So today’s Bad Baby Name goes to Robynnelee, who not only gets charged with failure to appear, but also the The South Lives On But Too Bad I’m Female Or Else I Could Have A Proper Tribute Name Award.

I enjoyed this edition. Mostly because I have a friend who recently had a baby and named him Jaxon. Though it’s better than some of the names that were suggested.

Ok so I am not happy you put Jaxyn in this category. My son’s name is Jaxyn spelled exactly that way. Now if you want to know my madness I’ll give it to you. He is somewhat named after a close friend but we wanted it to be different so we changed the cks for the x then I decided having two children with ai in their names (Cain & Maison) and 1 with an ay (Taylor) we decided in fairness to go with another ay. I think it sounds better and looks better and you may form your opinion but I wanted you to know it is hateful to pick on a name and what will those children given the names think when down the road they read your stupid opinion and start to hate a perfectly fine name!
