knswledgable

If you’re running OS X, try this: open TextEdit, type “knowledgable” (yes, it’s misspelled on purpose), highlight it, then right-click (or Ctrl-click) it and check your suggested proper spellings. Is knswledgable in there?

The “word” is in OS X’s spelling database for some reason. It’s not recognized by Dictionary.app.

For you people with iPhones, it’s in your iPhone’s spelling checker as well.

It seems to be 10.5 only.

Yep. Only on 10.5.2, only in US English, and even then sometimes it doesn’t appear.

I don’t get the popup suggestion on 10.5.2, but knswledgable does not seem to get flagged as a bad spelling either.

Try this one:
Accidentally misspell the word cartridge as “cartgriqdge” (don’t ask how I got that one) and one of the suggested words is “cartigriqdge”. Other variations of “cartgriqdge” works too.

Good catch, JK, I see it too. 10.5.5. (If it doesn’t get highlighted, hit space so it’ll check the word for errors)
