I think the people of Hawaii County are starting to catch on: name your child something stupid and I’ll make fun of them. How else can you explain the lack of bad baby names in recent weeks?
Take this week’s crop as an example. I can’t find anything truly cringe-worthy. Sure there are still kids being named Madisyn and Kaylynn-Lee and Jaedyn, but those aren’t truly horrible names.
The worse two names this week are Chaiden-Aaliyah and Deshylee. See? They’re really not that bad…
…or are they? Have I become desensitized to the Bad Baby Name?

I think you’re getting a bit desensitized.
That’s some classic y-ing of vowels, double-vowelling, multiname collisions, and gratuitous hyphenation. Chaiden? Seriously? And then to ram that up against the double-monstrosity of “Aaliyah” (a double vowel nonsensical spelling of some kind of a onomatopoeia-inspired yelping sound)? That’s gold.

You’re probably just getting soft on babies. Maybe you should let Chad take over your bad baby names posts for the next few weeks. You’ve taught him well :)

Shhhh …. if Brad’s become desensitised so near to D-Day there is a chance for a bad baby name of his very own. Awwww …..

I think the problem is we aren’t seeing any new bad baby names. They’ve become pretty repetitive lately. So much for the parents thinking they’re original.
