My name is Brad Cavanagh. I’ll start out by telling you who I am not. I am not the Brad Cavanagh who does rodeo. I am not the Brad Cavanagh who played the guitar in Seussical The Musical. I am not the Brad Cavanagh who came eleventh in the first monthly Seattle Dead Money Poker Tournament (eleventh in a field of eleven!). I am also not the Brad Cavanagh who crewed for Steve Fossett aboard the maxicatamaran PlayStation.

I am the Brad Cavanagh who grew up in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. I am the Brad Cavanagh who graduated from Lord Tweedsmuir Senior Secondary in 1993, and from the University of Victoria in 1999. I am the Brad Cavanagh who used to work for Success Information Systems in Victoria from 2000 to 2002. I am the Brad Cavanagh who lives in Volcano, Hawaii. Hilo is the closest city to Volcano, and Hilo is where the Joint Astronomy Centre is, which is where I work.

I am the Brad Cavanagh that supports ORAC-DR, writes Perl modules, and runs canspice.org.

I am the Brad Cavanagh who is CanSpice. I play EVE-Online, where I am the Brad Cavanagh who is Carsidava. I am the Brad Cavanagh who posts on arsclan.net, Ars Technica, and occasionally Slashdot.
